Over 400 people gathered at the Sacramento Turn Verein hall on February 17th for the 16th annual Sacramento Turn Verein Soccer Club Crab Feed. The fun-loving crowd devoured over 1,400 pounds of crab as well as antipasti, salad and spaghetti. Highlights of the evening included a silent auction, dessert auction, hosted bar and dancing to a live band late into the night.
The success of the event is entirely due to the tremendous efforts of volunteers helping in many ways - ticket sales, coordinating donations, cooking, serving, set up and clean up. A special thank you to first time event chairman Dave Telfer for coordinating the entire event. Mira Loma High School's boys and girls teams volunteered as servers and earned over $1,700 in tips which will be used to purchase much needed equipment for the program. The following week the Mira Loma boys team won their first payoff game in over 20 years beating #4 seed Sierra 2-1. A successful event for all involved.
If you have pictures of the Crab Feed that you would like share with the club, please upload or email them so they can be added to the event photo gallery.
