STV Hosts Wanderpokal This Weekend

The Sacramento Turn Verein will be hosting the Wanderpokal tournament over Memorial Day weekend, May 26th & 27th, at Granite Regional Park

The historic Wanderpokal tournament is in its 53rd year with a long and rich history  For decades participation in this tournament has been a Memorial Day weekend staple for the club.  2018 marks the 6th time STVSC has hosted the event - previously hosted in 1981, 1987, 2001, 2004 and 2014.. It is a tournament with competitive amateur soccer on the field that also includes camaraderie off the field amongst the players, staff and supporters from many clubs.

The matches are open for all to attend.  It’s a great opportunity for STV members to support the club and to see soccer being played in five divisions - Open, 35 & Over, 45 & Over, 55 & Over and 65 & Over.

Saturday, May 26
    Group matches all day starting at 8:30 am
    UEFA Champions League broadcast at the pavilion starting at 11:30 am
    Food and beverages available for purchase
    Beer garden - Noon to 6:00 pm  $4 beers
      featuring Scrimshaw pilsner, Paulaner Hof Brau, and Coronado IPA

Sunday, May 27
    Group matches continue starting at 8:30 am
    Championship & consolation matches starting at 12:30 pm
    Award ceremonies immediately after each division's championship match
    Food and beverages available for purchase
    Beer garden - Noon to 6:00 pm

There will be a parking fee at Granite Regional Park. This fee, $10 on Saturday for all weekend and $5 on Sunday, is not being collected by STVSC nor is our club managing parking.  The fees collected go to maintaining the complex and the youth club that manages it.
